Müller Thurgau DOC - Cortaccia
Müller Thurgau (cross between Riesling and Madeleine Royal, in 1882 in Geisenheim) arrived in South Tyrol in the first decades of the 20th century, where it is part of the sweet, sparkling and slightly aromatic white wines. A pleasant hint of nutmeg, more or less marked according to the area, is typical of the variety. The vineyards of Müller Thurgau di Cortaccia are mainly found on the exposed slopes of Penone, Hofstatt and Corona (up to 900 m a.s.l.), where the significant changes in temperature between day and night give the grapes a strong aroma. The tasty and lively wine reminds of a freshly mown alpine pasture, the high mountain acidity is harmoniously combined with the fruit that tastes of yellow peach, honey, mace, hazelnut and peach blossom.
